"Ease & Generosity" - About The Collection

The past few months, I've been piecing together a new collection in my studio. As an abstract artist, words have become an important tool for me in guiding what I want my work to convey. Lately I've been revisiting "This Is Water" a speech by David Foster Wallace in which he shares some beautiful thoughts on living with awareness and compassion.

How we construct meaning is “a matter of personal, intentional choice.” Everyday we are presented with this work of choosing. Choosing how we want to move through the world. Bodies of water are composed of rhythms, patterns and pauses. Moving with ease and overflowing with a simple fullness, I find it compelling to observe these qualities as lessons on being. An abundance of energy and rest, our relationship with nature teaches us how to invest in ourselves and in turn, each other. Refilling the well so that it can spill out, with ease and generosity.
